Flying Hearts T-Shirt Design

Flying Hearts T-Shirt Design

The T-Shirt that I designed with a little help of my Flying (Scribbler) Hearts Photoshop brushes on Zazzle just arrived!!!

And wow, it looks good :)

I washed it yesterday, and took the iPhone Hipstamatic photo :) But, it looks better than on this photo and better than the image in my Zazzle shop!

This T-Shirt was created with a little help of my Free Photoshop brushes (Digital Stamps): Scribbler Hearts, available for download on Digital Scrapbooking Source ->

Hanging hearts are also my brushes, but these are not available for download, yet. I still keep them for myself ;)

However, there are loads of high quality Photoshop brushes (w/commercial license) available in my little Shop of Wonders :) so feel free to visit ->

The quotation on the T-Shirt is by Frida Kahlo and it says: Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?

“Flying hearts” T-shirt is available in my Zazzle Shop, and I’m gonna wear it at tonight’s party!

Enjoy your day and have fun creating,
Silvia

This World is Full of Opportunities – Desktop Wallpaper

Guys,

I received an email the other day. It came from Germany and it was from a young woman who’s dream is to be a fashion designer. She wanted to buy my 800+ Photoshop brushes MEGA SET because the brushes there were just what she needed for her first fashion line but she wanted to make sure it is in line with my ToU before she makes a purchase.

Of course it was in line with my ToU! Actually, I was so happy that my brushes will be used that way that I decided to give her some of these brushes in as vector graphics as well!

When I was younger I dreamt the same dream. Wanted to be a fashion designer, making my own fashion lines… but life went into a different direction and now I’m graphic designer.

Anyways, what I wanted to say, it always amazes me to I see how many different and creative ways you find in using Photoshop brushes.

I mean, we did the boots design with Photoshop brushes, we made T-Shirts and socks, rubber stamps, packaging paper design, software application interfaces, that was fun, and I’d really really love to see C. making a success as a fashion designer.

Guys, I just needed to share with you, once again, how fascinated I am with the world of options we are surrounded with. Every day. If we just open our eyes.

Create, invent, discover!

Love,
Silvia

PS:

So, you thought I have forgotten about you, haven’t you? But I haven’t. If you liked the graphics from the header of this post you can have it as your wallpaper.  To create it I used Photoshop brushes from my little Shop. These are available at The Ultimate Photoshop Brushes CD too :)

Say NO to plastic bags!

Say NO to plastic bags!

We all need to be aware of environmental issues. And we can all help no matter what we do for living. So, even I, a Photoshop brushes designer, can use my work to promote green ideas.

I received that email the other day. It was a PowerPoint presentation showing how much damage plastic bags are doing to our planet. And how much good could we do if we just abandon them and go for good old fabric ones or paper bags. Even China banned the use of plastic bags.

I mean, I knew already knew how bad plastic bags are, but here are some facts that stunned me and probably won’t leave you indifferent too.

Consider the Following Shocking Facts About Plastic Shopping Bags:

* Plastic bags are made of polyethylene
* Polyethylene is a petroleum product
* Production contributes to air pollution and energy consumption
* Four to five trillion plastic bags are manufactured each year
* Americans use over 380 billion polyethylene bags per year
* Americans throw away approximately 100 billion polyethylene bags per year
* Of those 100 trillion plastic bags, 1% are recycled
* It takes 1000 years for polyethylene bags to break down
* As polyethylene breaks down, toxic substances leach into the soil and enter the food chain
* Approximately 1 billion seabirds and mammals die per year by ingesting plastic bags
* Plastic bags are often mistaken as food by marine mammals. 100,000 marine mammals die yearly by eating plastic bags.
* These animals suffer a painful death, the plastic wraps around their intestines or they choke to death
* Plastic bag choke landfills
* Plastic bags are carried by the wind into forests, ponds, rivers, and lakes

So, if you are into design and Photoshop brushes, what you could do is go to Cafepress and make a 100% cotton reusable bag!

I know I did one :)

OK. Guys! I hope you agree with me on the plastic bags issue. Have fun, have a great weekend and talk soon!

Guys,
We’ve been through a whole lot various application examples for Photoshop brushes and vectors.

Hand Painted Woman’s Pantyhose

Hello!

By now, everyone knows that we have a cat. Well, it’s not just a cat, it’s really our family member. So, when I have something to do – she must help me or she will be very very sad or even offended!

Hand Painted Womans Pantyhose

In one of my previous posts I was already telling you about a friend of mine who pursues her dream of succeeding with her small company that makes pantyhose’s.  (you can see our previous photo sessions here: first and second) Another girl, our friend too, is really great illustrator, so she draw a few illustrations directly on four pairs of pantyhose’s, using some special textile colors so that the illustrations don’t get washed away. She even made special unique packaging!

Hand Painted Womans Pantyhose

Huh, did I mention that we have our own booth at this years Christmas fair? Yeah, that’s where we’re selling our stuff. She sells her products (socks and pantyhose) and I’m selling my photography applied to wooden surface, small hand made diaries that I also make myself, some gift-bags, wooden candle holders, and so on … This is how “Dragon” illustration looks like on the leg :) (plastic leg, of course)

Hand Painted Womans Pantyhose

So today, in my small, improvised photo studio I made a few shots of these panty’s for a poster that we plan to hang out on our booth.

Of course, Poofitza (our cat) didn’t let me to do it alone. So, I created this special poster only for fun!

Photoshop Brushes on Boots

Photoshop Brushes on Boots

Gang,
I was minding my own business the other day, browsing various design competitions that are not too expensive to take part in when I ran into something that immediately threw me back in time. Back to my teenage days.
Dr. Martens footwear announced a footwear design competition where everybody has a chance to apply their design for boots and submit to their panel review.

The best designs will be applied to Dr. Martens next boots.

1. Swirls Floral Photoshop Brushes set, 422. Paisley Designs Photoshop Brushes set, 75+253. Floral DUO Photoshop Brushes set, 62

I don’t know about you, but when I was (a bit) younger I (of course) had my favorite pair of boots. You know the worn out footwear that you just can’t get let go. Until they are worn-out to the extend where toes are popping out. And then you spend the rest of the year trying to find the exact copy of them, but no matter how similar or even identical they are, the feeling is just never the same.

Of course.

I had a pair too. I wore it for years. Until they became so dilapidated as to be unwearable. I still keep them somewhere at my mothers place just for the sake of keeping staff that I just can’t threw away for some emotional reasons. (I guess it has something to do with letting go of the youth days :))

So, of course, no need to say it, I jumped onto that competition and created several designs of my own in an instance.

So far, my Photoshop Brushes were applied to many many different media, but to apply them on boots, and Dr. Martens ones? That never occurred to me as an idea. I don’t know if my designs will be selected or not, but it was a real pleasure to create them.

If you feel inspired, throw your own designs using my brushes (it is in line with Terms of Use so don’t worry :)) – And, of course, show me what you did :) I’d love to see your ideas!
Love,
Silvia

DrMartens Boot, Photoshop brushes

P.S.
You know, it got me thinking this Dr. Martens boots design competition. Now, this is one brilliant marketing strategy they implemented here. Why?

  1. They raise visibility involving their customers into active participation in the production process. For free.
  2. They get information on what direction to take in their next designs and that info comes from their own target audience. (Very important!)
  3. All these people who make designs they will write about it on their blogs (check my post for instance), send links by email, post on forums etc etc … so it is kinda huge free marketing for Dr. Martens Company making them even more popular and raising their visibility.
  4. People create their own galleries on http://www.dmbootdesign.com/ so it’s kind a community building at the same time.

Very nice!
