Today, I prepared a free desktop July 2011 wallpaper.
I named it simply – “Sunflower”. I love sunflowers and my garden is full of them :)
To me, this flower does not represent Summer and sun only, it also represents freedom, food (seeds and oil) and universal beauty. That’s why I love sunflowers!
I made this wallpaper with a little help from my friends Lightworks Photoshop brushes which are freely available to Gold and Platinum GBG members. So, to get them, join us at GBG and get access to those AND 150+ other Photoshop brushes sets, backgrounds, vector images, etc.

Dear All,
Last few weeks were pretty stressful for me.
That’s why you did not hear from me for a while. I didn’t want to write about these, not so good, things that were going on in my life. Let’s just say that things are back to normal, more or less, for the time being at least.
OK. Now, let’s get to fun stuff!
Today is the last day of March (at least for those of you who are reading this on 31st of March), and this time I prepared a free desktop April 2011 Calendar wallpaper. Isn’t it odd? This time, for a change, I prepared a Calendar wallpaper in time!!! :)

It is a weird day today. Especially the sunset I’m watching right now.
It rains, clouds are low, but still, far away, from the west, sun shines through, making drops of water sparkle on the trees in yellow, red and orange colors. Of course, the rainbow appeared too. On the east side where all is gray. All is weird this afternoon. Summer is coming to it’s end … obviously.
But, let’s not be sad about it! We are now looking forward to September, aren’t we! If you are into photography, you will love September, because the colors of September are always so beautiful. One of the best months for Photo lovers!
And, of course, this month as always, I prepared a desktop wallpaper calendar for you guys. The photo below was taken in September on a sailing trip and, as you can see, it was pretty dramatic :)

I received an email the other day. It came from Germany and it was from a young woman who’s dream is to be a fashion designer. She wanted to buy my 800+ Photoshop brushes MEGA SET because the brushes there were just what she needed for her first fashion line but she wanted to make sure it is in line with my ToU before she makes a purchase.
Of course it was in line with my ToU! Actually, I was so happy that my brushes will be used that way that I decided to give her some of these brushes in as vector graphics as well!
When I was younger I dreamt the same dream. Wanted to be a fashion designer, making my own fashion lines… but life went into a different direction and now I’m graphic designer.
Anyways, what I wanted to say, it always amazes me to I see how many different and creative ways you find in using Photoshop brushes.
I mean, we did the boots design with Photoshop brushes, we made T-Shirts and socks, rubber stamps, packaging paper design, software application interfaces, that was fun, and I’d really really love to see C. making a success as a fashion designer.
Guys, I just needed to share with you, once again, how fascinated I am with the world of options we are surrounded with. Every day. If we just open our eyes.

I bet many of you were taking pictures on weddings. Either as a professional photographers or just wedding guests no matter, taking photos on weddings can be loads of fun and we can never have enough good and funny wedding photos. But, taking pictures can be just a beginning of one beautiful project. So, why not take the whole deal one step further and create a Wedding Photo Book?
Now, that’s something everyone will enjoy going through, isn’t it?
It doesn’t matter if you can’t or don’t have time to make all these decorations that need to be used in such project. In this little example I made a small demo of how Photoshop brushes can help when creating a Wedding Photo Book.
Basically, what I did, I took one wedding photo, several brushes from The Ultimate Photoshop Brushes CD , mixed them all up in Photoshop and – voila! Here is the front page and the first page of Wedding Photo Book.
You can do all that. All you need to know is how to load Photoshop brushes into Photoshop document, mix them up with wedding images, play a little with colors, dimensions, brush positioning on page and Wedding Photo Book is done in no time.
Ok. I hope you liked this little example and maybe some of you will want to try and make something like this with your self. Let me know how it goes.

Guys! My apartment is a mess! It is the first day of the removal (we’re moving to that house we bought few months ago) and, you can imagine, it’s just boxes all around this place.
So, I thought, since I won’t be making any new posts for a next few days, I’d just show you my mock-up for the next Photoshop brushes I had in mind. I’ll call them: Fantasy birds :)
I started to make this draft today, but, since the movers are coming on Monday, there was now way for me to finish it today too. I mean, I would need at least two days anyway. So, I hope you like the preview and I promise to have the full package ready as soon as I settle down at my new place.

Mr. Alphons (on the image below) and me wish you a very happy St. Patrick’s Day! Green, cheerful holiday that celebrates not just St. Patrick but it also a spring time that is coming!
Although St. Patrick’s Day originally started in Ireland as a religious holiday, a long time ago at the beginning of the 7th century, gradually it became a secular celebration celebrated all around the world, all the way to South Korea :) More about St. Patrick’s Day ->
And that’s no wonder, main concept of this celebration is: to be cheerful, have a beer with your friends, sing and dance.
Although, today did not start very well for me. Mr. Alphons, our little kitten tried to imitate Tom Cruise from Mission Impossible and fell of the balcony (2nd floor) while doing it :(
Still, we might say that today is a very happy day, as Mr. Alphons actually got lucky! We took him to the vet, we did full examination, including the X-Rays, blood test, etc … and the final verdict is – Mr. Alphons is fine!
He has a hell of the reason to celebrate St. Patty’s day!
Still, I hope he will not try to re-do the stunt. Or was just his way to express his happiness about the spring that’s coming :) ?
Anyways, just look at him with the clover in his teeth. A true man cat ;) Resembles Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca a bit, innit?
Anyways, have fun, have a pint or just a juice with your friends, celebrate, sing and dance, love each other!

I really had some rough time last few months. It was a long, cold winter. After years of living in a rented apartments we finally managed to buy (with a little help from the bank of course) an old house that didn’t seem to be in bad condition – at that time.
We were so wrong! After we started renovating it turned out that nearly everything needs to be renovated. It turned out to be a real money-eater so we nearly ended up on the edge of bankruptcy. We’ve been through some really stressful moments, days, nights… I tell ‘ya.
But that’s a whole different story of which I might write a book one day when all these events becomes distant past tense and I hope this day will come soon :)
Still, is there there anything that can stop me from making new free stuff for my dear blog visitors and my GBG members?

Because we never know what’s awaiting for us just around the corner. Striving and trying keeps the hope alive and keeps us moving.
Why is it important to keep moving?
Because, when we stop moving, it means that we gave up. Then, despondency takes over and we were not born to be despondent. We were born to be happy. So, our task on this planet is to strive to achieve happiness. For some of us it’s easy and for others … well … not that much. Some of us are happy all the time, some of us have happy and sad periods, some of us are sad most of the time.
But still, every day, each and every one of us, when we wake up in the morning, until we go to sleep at night, everything we do is driven by one single purpose – to be happy.
Helping others to be happy (or at least not to be sad, or desperate or ill), that’s also something that makes us happy, right? (or at least it should be)
Anyways, this is my daily dose of encouragement. Even if these are difficult times for me, I know, I have no other choice but to keep moving. You never know what’s waiting just around the corner :)
