Today, just a few weeks before Christmas, I proudly present you the first Graphics-Illustrations.Com On-Line application with a simple name:
Photoshop brushes On-Line Playground
This simple Photoshop brushes playground will let you play with my Photoshop brushes, so you get a feeling what it’s like to work with them and try before you buy them.
Of course, this little application will not let you do everything Photoshop let’s you do with them but still you will be able to:
- Rotate it: Ctrl (on Mac Cmd) + Left and Right Arrow Keys
- Re-size it: Ctrl (on Mac Cmd) + Up and Downl Arrow Keys
- Change transparency
- Color it (solid colors only)
You can, also, choose whether you want to work on some of the backgrounds I provided or you want to work on a solid color background.
Finally, you get to pick the font and write something. For instance, you could try to make your very own Christmas card design!
Use “Clear” button to start again!
In this particular Playground you get to play with my PREMIUM Photoshop brushes set: Winter in Swirls (33+33+33).

Here is a retrospective of what we’ve done in 2009. I had no IDEA that I made so MANY different examples on how to use Photoshop brushes during 2009! There was also a bunch of new Photoshop brushes and loads of fun!
So, without further ado, here is a small retrospective and a bunch of ideas on the topic! I hope you will like it!

Be different! Be among the first in this new revolution! Say NO to the tyranny of the new age called Christmas shopping pressure. Marketing companies see you as a sheep that only needs to work – earn and spend. But, guess what, it doesn’t say anywhere that you have to spend money for Christmas!!! I checked in the Bible the other day. I checked the Constitution as well. You DON’T NEED TO SPEND MONEY FOR CHRISTMAS. Nothing bad will happen to you.
To give to the ones you love is fine. It’s cool, but here is another good news – they will appreciate the time you took to make something for them with your own hands. They will appreciate it, that’s for sure.
Make a picture, a drawing, a poem or frame a photography. Make a cake or prepare a dinner surprise. Think think think! Don’t just rush in some super-store and spend spend spend just because everyone does it!
Be creative. Be yourself. Don’t be a sheep just following the herd.
Here you can download gift cards (or little greeting cards: 2,55″x3,7″) and print them (9 cards – one paper sheet A4 or letter size). Cut them on the lines, fold on the dashed lines and make them yours.

Create a new file 5″ x 7” at 300pix/inch in RGB mode. Color the background layer with a blue linear gradient.
Draw some basic tree shape or use my “tree.eps“. Place the “tree.eps” as “smart object”.
Copy it (CTRL+J on PC or Cmd+J on Mac) as much as you want – resize it and plant it all over your Christmas card.
You can resize it freely because it’s vector format and it will not loose a bit on quality.
Color them in different tones of white and blue to create an illusion of depth, 3rd dimension.
Create a new layer (CTRL+Shift+N on PC or Cmd+Shift+N on Mac), use snowflake brush from brush set “Grunge Snowflakes Brush” – spread snowflakes in different sizes all over the background.
Color the layer with the snowflakes with “Gradient Overlay” from white to approx 45% of cyan.
Now you can write “Merry Christmas” or “Happy New Year” and Christmas card is finished!
