About a book and a little piece of great software – Preset Viewer 2.1

Gang,
It’s been a while, I know, but I’ve been so busy with the Graphics-Illustrations Facebook page (and your response there was so enormous) that time just flew by.

I don’t know if I mentioned that, but among other stuff that I do (like preparing a free Photoshop brush download for my Facebook page fans) I also prepare a book about Photoshop brushes. Working title is: Photoshop Brushes Cookbook. It is an old idea, I started it a long time ago and just recently I decided that I need to sit and get to it seriously.

Among other staff mostly recipes on how to use Photoshop brushes, book will come with a DVD that contains all my free brushes ever published and, of course, some new brushes so that there will be 101 PS brush set there.

The idea was to inspire the reader with various samples of Photoshop brushes usage.

Then, the trouble started, I realized that, if use Photoshop of free brush viewer that I use, I just cannot manage all those brushes efficiently, it took too long to preview and organize them.

So, I decided I need to search the Internet for the right brush Viewer and manager.

And I found it! The name of the software is Preset Viewer, it is done by a nice couple who run a company called Tumasoft and it searches the system for brush (.abr), but not just brush, it looks for pattern (.pat), custom shape (.csh), swatch (.acb, .aco, .act, .ase), style (.asl), compositions (.psd), and image (.bmp, .jpg, .png, and more) files and quickly sorts them for display.

Here are some of the features of Preset Viewer when working with brushes, patterns, etc … :
- offers thumbnails, fimstrip and tiled modes, each with three different size options for a total of nine different viewing options.
- Preset Viewer allows you to view any images embedded in a brush or style seperately so you can really “see” what you are looking at
- simple-to-use keywording interface

But, let’s not just recite it’s features. Just head over to the Preset Viewer user guide and see it for yourself.

Do I need to say that I highly recommend it?
If you are Photoshop brushes addict and anything close to Photoshop brushes heavy user, you’re gonna appreciate what this software has to offer.

But, just before you go there, here is a little code for you. Mr. Tuma was kind enough to offer this code which will reduce the price of Preset Viewer from $37 down to $26. CODE: GI-ROCKS

OK. That’s it for today. Don’t ask me when will book be over. Might be sooner than you think :) But still, I haven’t forgotten about you so for the next time I promise more cool stuff! Until then, play with the brushes, create nice stuff and let me know if you’d like to see your work featured on this blog*.

Until then, love you all,
Silvia

P.S.
I will definitely feature your work if it involves some of my free or commercial brushes.
