Ladies and gentleman, designers, scrapbookers, Photoshoppers, beginners, enthusiasts and professionals. Today, it is my great honor and pleasure to present you
Renaissance & Medieval Photoshop brushes set!
Now, before you go and get to this set, here is the story behind …
I red one Seth Godin book a while ago. The name of the book was Small is the new Big and it is mainly intended for new entrepreneurs (and I am one in Photoshop brushes / graphics business) with a bunch of good advices.
I particularly remember one of the advices (two things):
- Make promises
- Keep promises
So, what can I say. It is only natural that one should keep promises, but to make promises. That’s something I was a bit afraid of. But, good ol’ Seth said it’s good to make promises and that I should not be afraid of making them as long as I can keep them.
Why am I saying all this?
Because I made a promise. I made a promise that I will prepare new Renaissance & Medieval themed Photoshop brushes set.
I made that promise to my Facebook page fans and, of course, I kept it. So …
Ladies and gentleman, designers, scrapbookers, Photoshoppers, beginners, enthusiasts and professionals. Today, it is my great honor and pleasure to present you
Renaissance & Medieval Photoshop brushes set!

It is compatible with Photoshop brushes 7.0 – CS4, Photoshop Elements – all versions, Mac and PC.
As usual, there are two versions of that brush. A light one, with 11 brushes which is free:

Gang,
As most of you already noticed, July 2009 edition of GBG Newsletter is out. And it is always a big event in our house! Simply because it takes a lot of work. Many hours. Lot of preparations, tests, modifications, adjustments and re-adjustments.
Until, one day, we can say “It’s ready” and send it out. Then we make a toast and a little celebration :) Then we eat loads of ice cream and dance to the music! (Unless my husband decides to play Freddy in the living room :)
And I learned today, again, how you guys recognize that and appreciate it (not the dance, but the quality of the newsletter). Thank you for your messages of support!
Not to mention how thankful I am and happy to receive great feedback from my buyers. Your feedback is so great that I just go and read it when I feel down. It’s warm and uplifting. And that’s what keeps me going.
OK. I got diverted from the subject now.
So, the newsletter is out. I am already receiving great feedback about it. Especially on Facebook and thank you so much for that.
I’m glad to hear you love my latest Peacock feather brushes. As always, they come in highest possible resolution (up to 2500). I draw each feather, manually, spent a lot of time doing it, but it was worth it.
In this latest edition we also bring some new Photoshop tutorials and one background made with a little help from Peacock brushes.
All in all, I’m happy with the way it turned out. I’m even more happy to see that you like it too.
If you are new to the site and were wondering how to get the latest issue of GBG Newsletter it’s enough to become a Green Bulb Gang member ->

So, here is what background looks like (this is thumbnail version).

So, thank you for your attention. Keep on writing, I will write back.
And don’t forget: Always have fun creating!
Hugs,
Silvia
P.S.
Oh, yes! And if you like my work and posts and the site in general, it would be really really great if you could use some of the social bookmarks below and share it on Tweeter, or StumbleUpon, or, Delicious, or … whatever you see fit :)

Well, we all knew it had to be done. We were just postponing it as much as possible.
Until today.
Yes, my dear returning visitors and friends, you are not on the wrong place. You are on Graphics-Illustrations.Com newly redesigned web site! :)
I did it because the amount of content by far overgrew the old design. Graphics-Illustrations.Com has more than 301 articles and more than 2,000 Comments?

It was hard to navigate through the site the way it was designed. Some if you even wrote me saying that it is not easy to find your way around the site.
So, I hope you will like it. Please let me know!

Gang,
It’s been a while since my last post. I’m working hard on my Photoshop brushes book (almost 3/4 done), but, I haven’t forgotten about you.
No way.
As a matter of fact, for today I prepared another Free Photoshop brushes set!
This one has some 13 bamboo and other types of branches and it comes in two sizes!
Small ones and big ones :) Since, sometimes, it might happen that the quality of the brush is deteriorated when re-sized too much, I prepared two sizes so that the whole range is covered and whatever size you need, you will have a real High Quality brushes.
So, it’s here, it’s free and it will remain here for free download for next five days. Say, until the end of the week.
Then I will remove them to Green Bulb Gang exclusive department where it will join other 77 Free Photoshop brushes sets!
Of course you can join Green Bulb Gang and get other 77 Photoshop brushes sets for free!
You can download them all and enjoy the sea of opportunities that they offer!
Anyway, here is the set, just click on some of the download links and – voila!

Two weeks ago, I had this idea to create a unique envelope for my sisters-in-law birthday. But, in the meantime, she left for vacation and now she’s enjoying Californian hotels :)
So, I still have a chance to make a unique envelope for her birthday and it will wait for her when she’s back!
So, you guessed, today’s “download and print” freebie is - envelope template.

The original size of this envelope template is 8″x5″ on the 12″x12″ paper size, but you can print it on any size (like I did) just use “fit to paper” option on your Print window. For this envelope design I used Swirled Floral Photoshop Edges Brushes set and Floral Shapes Photoshop Brushes set. Both available in our little shop.
Now, take a look at my short photo story on how to make an envelope. It’s fun and easy so, enjoy!
1. Print the envelope template and cut out the envelope shape. I used fancy-edge scissors just to cover my possible cutting mistakes :)

2. Fold the paper carefully and try to match (as much as you can) the illustrations on the bottom flap and top flap of the envelope. Apply 1/4″ wide double-sided tape along the side edges of the back, starting below the curves.

3. That’s it! This is the Back side of the envelope. The flaps are designed to match one another!

4. And the front side of the envelope with the place where you can write your loved one name :)

Download this envelope template design here, buy Swirled Floral Edges Photoshop Brushes set or buy Floral Shapes Photoshop Brushes set and the most important thing: have fun creating!
Silvia

- All submissions can be seen on our Facebook Fan Page
Guys,
Before I announce the winners of the competition, I want to make one thing clear: ALL OF THE WORKS WERE AWESOME!!!!
You guys gave me such a hard time with your submissions … I will never forgive you for that ;)
Had to go through all of 116 banner submissions, one by one, shortlist, then the shortlist was too big, cannot have 50 shortlisted works, then I had to go through that again …
Anyways, thank you all for submitting your work, thank you for your effort – I appreciate it very much!
I hope you had fun creating and to all of you who voted and commented on Facebook, thank you too – it helped me a lot during the selection.
So, the competition was so strong, that I just could not select only seven submissions and leave it there. Therefore, I decided to introduce one more category for those works that did not make it to the top 7 but were very very close and if I had more sponsors those would certainly be rewarded with prizes. So, there are 14 more works with HONORABLE MENTION!
One more thing, some of the winners who submitted more than one work probably deserved more than one prize with your works, but, I had only 7 prizes to give away and hope you will agree with me, I had to give only one prize per author.
OK. Enough talking now.
Ladies and gentleman, it is a special privilege for me tonight and a great honor, to introduce you to

Guys,
This the last day of the Competition. If you still did not submit your work – now is your chance.
I wish the best of luck to all of you.
And here is a little something I just did for those of you who love photography. I shot this image a few years ago, there was this beautiful olive tree plantation and the clouds were just magical. The shot was taken in Istria/Croatia and I must add that this area offers loads of opportunities for photographers and people who like photography.
After I did a little “touch up” in Photoshop (wanted to emphasize the oldness of the tree and the magic of the surroundings) I placed the photo on one of the background from 2 Pack Graphics: Old Grunge Paper images 3. This was done using layer multiply effect.
I placed the whole thing on the paper that I did for this purpose (plain brown background with texturizer filter applied).
The cornders come from Photo Corners (20+20) Photoshop brushes.

So, basically, to get an effect like this is more simple than it looks, isn’t it?
So, I hope you like it. Feel free to browse through my little shop for some other HiRes Photoshop brushes, background images and vectors.
Love ya all,
Silvia

Guys,
I am so grateful for today! Received so many good news (business wise and life wise), sales are going well (more and more people see how they can benefit from my products), there are more enrollments for the competition than I ever hoped for, the weather is perfect, after two years of writing and creating content for this blog I made a lot of new friends who I love and respect. Last but not the least, we have a new cat arrival (Peacco, 7 weeks old) and everything is just so perfect that I had to share it with you.
I hope you are having a great one too. If not, I suggest you start creating something (do some designs in Photoshop, could be something for the Competition). It might be a little difficult in the beginning, but if you are persistant, in the end, your effort will be rewarded and you will feel good :) Guaranteed!

Guys,
We’ve been through a whole lot various application examples for Photoshop brushes and vectors.
But, these things just keep popping out. Like this one for instance.
I looked around to see what’s up on Zazzle when it turned out that I can actually design my own shoes.
Now, that’s something! To design my own shoes the ones that I will actually wear!
So, I played a little and here is how they came out:

So, this is one more great sample where vectors come handy. You can do just anything with vectors. No matter what you use, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW! or any other vector oriented application.
You can resize them, skew them stretch them and they will never lose any quality. In fact, they just might become even better.

So, for these shoes I used Vector Swirls Set (16) but if you are looking for a real vector deal, go for 128 All-in-one Vector pack that is on SALE NOW!

This All-In-One BIG Vector Pack includes 128 vectors from 5 different Vector sets:
1. Vector Swirls set (16 vectors)
2. Vector Floral Shapes set (30 vectors)
3. Swirls and Stars (35 vectors)
4. Swirled Corners (26 vectors)
5. Photo Edges (21 vectors – swirls and floral)
Total value of individual sets: $71.95
Package price: $61.95
Sale price: $56.95!
Commercial license included.

Love ya all!

Gang,
Believe it or not, we just got our first Graphics-Illustrations.Com Competition Sponsor!
Her name is Katie Cotton (Katie Cotton blog) and she creates paper makup stamps and here is the Paper Makup Stamps Blog ->
So, I recommend you visit her site and find out more about Katie and her business (I must say I was impressed.)
Katie kindly offered to give away four Stamp Sets from her shop:
1. SWIRLIE TREE – BARE RUBBER
2. SWIRLIE BUDS – BARE RUBBER
3. PANDA HUGS – BARE RUBBER
4. NATURE’S SONG, BARE RUBBER
I think these prizes are great examples of creative Photoshop Brushes usage. You will see that some of them are made with a little help of my Photoshop brushes and I’m really really, happy about it (blink-blink :)).
So, thank you Katie, once again for your contribution. You are really kind and I am so happy to have you as a sponsor in our competition.
Now we have a total of 7 prizes to give away, which means that at least 7 of participants will be the winners in our competition.
For the rest of you, there is still enough time.
Competition ends on 12th of July, so you have plenty of time to create a blog header using these templates and send them over to my email (find it here) or post it to Graphics-Illustrations.Com Facebook Page.
Here are the headers (please make sure not to resize them):
Find out more about Graphics-Illustrations.Com 2009 Competition PRIZES ->
So, that’s, more or less, it for today’s post. I just love bringing good news and this one was good news. You guys keep on having fun, create and create more and I wish you best of luck in the Competition!
Hugs,
Silvia
